Affiliate Disclosure

A sunlit research desk with a laptop, reference books, an abacus and a magnifying glass.

This site has no active affiliate relationships right now — the offers list in the code is empty. This page describes the rules that will apply the moment that changes, before it changes.

The rule, built into the code

On this site, an offer cannot exist without its disclosure — the two are the same piece of data. Every affiliate link is required to carry its own disclosure text, shown directly next to the link itself, on the page where it appears — not buried down here alone. If you ever see an affiliate-style link on this site without a disclosure next to it, that is a bug; please report it.

What never changes because of an affiliate relationship

  • The number on the result screen. Affiliate relationships never influence a computed figure — the number is the product, and nothing is allowed to compromise it.
  • Which sources we cite. Our tax data comes only from primary, verified sources — see sources — regardless of any commercial relationship.
  • Where offers can appear. Affiliate links only ever show below the result, on content pages — never inside or above a calculation.

Technical marking

Every affiliate link on this site carries rel="sponsored nofollow", the marking search engines require for paid links, so they're never presented as an unbiased editorial endorsement.
