Privacy Policy

The short version

Calculations run in your browser, and the site has no accounts. Your saved profile stays in this browser. Some calculator links include your chosen numbers in the URL; opening or sharing those links can transmit those numbers. Google Analytics counts visits and pages only after you accept analytics cookies.

Calculations and saved settings

Personalized results are calculated in your browser using the published tax and cost data. There is no account to create or server-side profile to sign into. The server delivers the site files; it does not run your personalized calculation.

Your basket, your shareable calculator state, and your Grandma-mode/Expert-mode preference are all stored only in your browser'slocalStorage. Clearing your browser data clears them. A link you generate to share a result encodes the numbers in the URL itself. Opening a URL sends its path and query to the hosting service. These details may appear in browser history, hosting logs and, if you accept analytics, page-view data. Anyone you share that link with can read the included numbers.

Analytics

After you accept analytics, this site uses Google Analytics (GA4)to understand which pages get read. Page-view data includes the page URL, which can contain calculator values. Computing a result locally does not remove those values from a link you open or share.

Analytics stays off until you choose Accept in the cookie banner. Choosing Decline keeps it off. Your choice is remembered in this browser.

Email

Email signup is not active on this site yet. When it is, an address you submit voluntarily goes only to the email provider used to send that one type of email, and is used for nothing else.

Advertising and affiliate links

Ad slots on this site are reserved in the layout but currently show nothing — no ad network is connected yet. No affiliate relationships are active yet either; when a page does carry an affiliate link, it is disclosed directly next to the link itself, not just on this page — see the affiliate disclosure. When an ad network is connected, this policy will be updated to name it and describe what it collects, before it goes live.

We do not sell your data

This site does not sell visitor data. Local settings, shared links and analytics are described above so you can understand what is stored or transmitted when you use it.
